These pieces are handmade brass/silver/copper or a combination of these metals all coated with anti-tarnish lacquer.

They are made in South Africa and the company:
employs mostly women, 20% are disabled, is part of the Black Economic Empowerment Act in South Africa which requires the company to pay fair wages, teach employees life skills (banking, finance, computer literacy, health, hygiene etc) and buys products from other African vendors to help create sustainable jobs for other African companies.
